Fundraising is one of the most essential aspects of Habitat for Humanity. In order to build homes, we must also build the financial support to make it possible. The average house in Champaign County costs approximately $65,000 to build. Our goal is to raise half of that amount each year and partner with another organization to co-sponsor a full home build annually. It is the role of the fundraising directors to create and organize fundraising events each semester to meet the financial commitments of the current build and help plan for future ones. Fundraising typically runs 5–8 events per semester.
